NEW ZEALAND -- An animal welfare group is starting an awareness campaign, so original, you can't ignore it. Two months ago, an animal trainer began teaching three rescued dogs how to drive a car.

A group of engineers modified a real car so it can be driven by them. Seven weeks later, the animals can put it into gear, accelerate and steer.

The dogs have been driving with the help of an assistant inside the car. Monday, they'll drive alone on live TV.
