Council approves police pay raise

CHAMPAIGN -- The city council approved a new three year contract for police officers. It calls for a 2-3% raise. They will also get a $3,000 bonus for living inside city limits. Some officers will also have to take a drug and alcohol test if they fire their weapon on duty.
