ISU prez steps down
Updated: December 4, 2012
Bowman made the announcement in an email to students and staff Monday morning. He joined the university as a faculty member in 1978. Then, he took the reins as president in 2003.
Bowman planned on retiring in four years, but he says it's best for his health to step down sooner. He's turning 60.
He says he'll stay on until a new president is found. He plans on teaching at ISU and living in the twin cities.
