Undefeated Colorado escapes Illini women's basketball

Updated: December 1, 2012
CHAMPAIGN- Arielle Roberson scored 25 points for Colorado, as the undefeated Buffs escaped Assembly Hall with a 69-62 win over the Illini.

Alexis Smith had 17 points in a losing cause for Illinois, while Karisma Penn and Taylor Tuck each had 11.

It was far from a perfect game for either team. Each squad had 27 turnovers. But Colorado was able to take advantage of those miscues, scoring 36 points off turnovers while Illinois only had 22 points off turnovers.

Colorado was the better team on the offensive glass, grabbing 14 offensive rebounds. It also was more aggresive in the paint, which is a big reason why the Buffs shot 56 percent from the field in the second half.

Illinois' next game is at Texas Tech on Wednesday
