URBANA -- A buffet is serving up a way to help families in need. Piato Cafe in Lincoln Square collects donations every year.

The money is for kids who get most of their meals at school. With every meal served here Thursday, people could give to the Eastern Illinois Foodbank.

That money goes into kid's backpacks Friday, so they have food over the holiday weekend. The owner says she lowered her prices so more people will donate to charity.

"As a business owner, I personally think that we need to help people that are less fortunate and we always try to do a $5 buffet for a charity," says owner Kelly Jo Lamb.

This isn't the only group Piato supports. The next $5 buffet happens in January to help CASA. Court Appointed Special Advocates helps abused children.
