New recruits graduate from PTI

URBANA -- The UI Police Training Institute is celebrating its big comeback by sending 41 recruits into the working world. PTI held its first graduation since it was shut down.

It was forced to close for five months because of a lack of students. Thursday's graduates are from around the state.

It's a fairly big number compared to the twelve who graduated in previous years. New programs have been added to the curriculum including DNA research and courses on animal abuse.
