Community pitches in for elementary greenhouse

DANVILLE -- An elementary school has a new greenhouse and didn't have to pay a penny for it. That's because people in the community pitched in for parts and labor.

Northeast Elementary's principal said they've been planning the project since spring. During fall break, volunteers finished putting it together and brought it to the school. Now the students have a lot to look forward to.

Students in each of the grades have started their own projects. That includes their own version of a Chia pet and other bean-sprouting projects. Students will plant flowers and vegetables in the spring.
