Source of bear paw still unknown

DECATUR -- The Macon County Coroner is investigating the black bear paw found on Thanksgiving Day.

He says the paw was severed with a butcher cut, most likely from a hunter. The claws had also been removed and it had been outdoors for a few days before being found.

The coroner says he plans to contact DNR to see if it has any pending cases involving a bear, otherwise, it will be thrown away.
