Trooper killed by semi during traffic stop

LITCHFIELD -- An Illinois State Trooper was killed in an accident in Montgomery County Monday. The crash happened on Interstate-55.

A semi-truck hit and killed Kyle Deatherage while he was on a traffic stop. The 32-year old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deatherage was a motorcycle officer with District 18. He leaves behind a wife and two young children.
