PONTIAC -- Some holiday travelers will be speeding up this year. 110-mile per hour high-speed rail service started Thursday on a 15-mile stretch of track between Chicago and St. Louis.

Governor Quinn made the inaugural ride on the track last month. The 15-mile stretch runs from Dwight to Pontiac. At least 75% of the Chicago to St. Louis route should be high-speed by 2015.
