Aggravated battery investigated

UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS -- Police are trying to figure out what lead up to an attack in Campustown. It happened early Saturday morning, November 10, near 6th and John streets.
Police say a man was walking alone when he was hit from behind. He was severely beaten up and suffered injuries to his mouth and ribs. Investigators are looking over video from security cameras in the area hoping to find some clues.
Sgt. Tom Geis with UI Police said, "We're going through multiple scenarios that could have happened that night." Police had already upped patrols in the area near campus bars but remind people to be on the lookout for trouble.

Police are trying to identify possible suspects in an aggravated battery. It happened Saturday, November 10, near the parking garage and church on Sixth between John and Daniel streets.
The victim was attacked from behind. He was struck in the head, severely battered and sustained injuries to his mouth and ribs. The victim told police he thinks there was more than one attacker.
