MACON COUNTY -- A massive power outage put thousands in the dark. About 13,000 Ameren customers lost power around 6:40 Sunday night.

Most of them are in the northern and western parts of Decatur. The outage also spread north towards Forsyth and west towards Harristown. Power came back on almost two hours later.

Ameren says there was a problem at the Walnut Grove Substation, but crews aren't exactly sure what went wrong. They hope to know more by Monday.
