CHAMPAIGN -- The holiday season is all aglow! Saturday, the Fire Department and dozens of other businesses spent the day putting up Christmas decor, getting ready for this year's Parade of Lights.

It's a tradition the fire department has been a part of since the very beginning. They spent the day decorating trucks with lights, Santa and snowmen.

It's a special day for Lt. Lon Pitcher. He's going to drive a truck that's been around since 1947. Pitcher can't wait to spread some holiday cheer.

"I love to have the children watch the truck. Their eyes get really big. They want to touch the truck and be part of it. Even when I always a little kid myself, I always wanted to be a part of the fire department," said Lt. Lon Pitcher.

This is the 12th year for the Parade of Lights.
