URBANA -- Many people are getting ready to head out for Black Friday. One woman said that's the perfect opportunity to pick up something extra for our servicemen and women.

It's for a non-profit called Toys For Troops. The president of the group said they're not really looking for toys anymore. But she's looking for Christmas gifts for soldiers instead. That could be a DVD, letter or even Christmas decorations.

"My son did two tours in Iraq and to be at home and feel so helpless, you just want to be able to do something that will make their day better," said Lori Stewart. "Not just Christmas Day but everyday."

There is a drop-off event planned for next month. Volunteers will also gift-wrap each of the presents there. The event is at the ILEAS building in Urbana on December 2, starting at 1 pm.

If you can't stop by, Stewart said she can arrange for someone to pick up your donation. You can contact Stewart by emailing her at ljstewart@gmail.com or by calling (217) 621 - 4950.
