CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- A child molester from Champaign will spend decades in jail. The judge sentenced 37-year old James Davis to 50-years in prison.

It's taken almost a year for the victims to get justice. In July 2011, Davis sexually molested a 6-year old girl and tried to do the same thing to her 8-year old sister in their home on Bradley Street.

The State's Attorney's Office says Davis knew the girls' mother. He stopped by one night asking for a place to stay. Later that evening, he got up to use the bathroom and found the girls. The sisters told their mother, who threw Davis out and called police.

It's not the first time he's been in trouble with the law. Records show Davis has had more than 25 traffic and criminal convictions, including DUI, drugs, weapons and domestic battery charges. He's also been in prison five times. The victims identified Davis in a photo lineup helping put him away.
