SPRINGFIELD -- The school board met Monday night to talk about a sex scandal involving a teacher. 36-year-old Jennifer Tyree is accused of having a sexual relationship with two students at Lanphier High School. She's since been put on unpaid administrative leave.

Board members discussed the investigation during executive session. What was said during that time is considered confidential.

Aside from allegations made against the English teacher, her credentials are also being called into question. School leaders learned she didn't have the qualifications needed to teach at the high school level.

The superintendent says the district plans to reevaluate its hiring procedures to make sure something like this doesn't happen again. They even plan to bring in the State Board of Education to assist.

Even though the issue wasn't addressed during the public portion of the school board meeting, dozens of parents still showed up. Many say they were there for the proposed budget cuts, but some still were interested in learning what will happen to Tyree. The district now has 30 days to decide whether or not to fire her.
