DANVILLE -- If you think the elections are over and done with, think again. Workers are already getting started on the next one. It's in April, and will allow voters to cast ballots for school board officers and city council members.

Monday is the first day to turn in petitions for those wanting to run. The Election Commission had packets available three months ago and say people need to start early.

The Commission is always working on multiple elections. It's six months until the next one, but that's not a lot of time if you consider everything that has to be done.

The deadline for those petitions is Monday. If there's a primary, it's February 26, a little more than three months to get polls set up and ballots printed.
