BLOOMINGTON -- This couple has a marriage which stands the test of time. In fact, it's longer than some people live!

Phillip and Esther Martin have been married for 79-years. He's 101, she's 97. Over time, their relationship has grown stronger, but health problems pulled them apart.

Having suffered a stroke, Ester lives in a nursing home across town. But, nearly every day, Phillip goes to see her, and while she can no longer speak in full sentences, just being with his wife means the world to him.

The Martin's have one of the longest marriages in McLean County. They say it's a partnership with road bumps. It's just not getting stuck that makes it last.
