Quinn launches grassroots campaign

SPRINGFIELD -- Governor Quinn is once again pushing for pension reform. This time he's taking his message to the web. It's a part of his new internet grassroots campaign.

He wants everyone to get involved in pension discussions and let them know what's going on. He says the state is feeling a major squeeze and something needs to be done to stop it. Right now, the system has an unfunded liability of about $96 billion. One of the worst in the entire country.

Lawmakers will have the final say in what happens. They're expected to vote on a pension reform plan before January 9. That's before the new General Assembly is sworn into office.
