CHAMPAIGN -- Police are looking into two overnight robberies near the UI campus. The first happened around 2:00 am on the 400 block of East Healey Street. Police say two victims were walking when a suspect came up behind them.

He demanded money and their phones, then took off running with their stuff. The victims say he had a black handgun.

20 minutes later, another robbery happened nearby on the 600 block of East Clark Street. The suspect again snuck up on two victims, ordered them to the ground, and told them to empty their pockets.
