CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- The holidays are almost here. For many, the season of giving is one of the hardest times of the year. A mother of six was looking for a little help. WCIA-3's Drew Wilder explains how she found it and something extra she wasn't expecting.

Donna Morgan reads with her daughter, Charise. One of six children Donna has. For this single parent, holidays can be a tough time of the year. Donna signed up to get some help from the Salvation Army's Toy Drive in coordination with Carle Hospital.

But, something happened to Donna while she was at the Salvation Army. She went to help her own family and decided to volunteer her time to help others.

The Morgans are one of about 1,000 families the Salvation Army and Carle Hospital will help bring toys to this year. Donna says, after volunteering her time, it means so much more.
