Bicyclist killed in accident

SANGAMON COUNTY -- A Taylorville man is dead after an early morning crash. Grover Everett, 71, was riding his bike on Illinois Route 104 just east of Auburn.

A car, driven by Willem Cohen, 22, drifted onto the shoulder and hit Everett from behind. Everett was thrown from the bike and landed on the hood of the car.

He was taken to Memorial Hospital in Springfield where he later died.
