DANVILLE -- Republicans in Illinois are looking to 20-14 after taking a beating in last week's election. Many party leaders say it will be tough to recover unless the GOP takes over the governor's office. WCIA-3's Steve Staeger has more.

"Super-majority." It's a word you've heard a lot of since the election. It basically means democrats have more control of the state than ever. So, republicans are trying to shift their focus forward.

Former governor Jim Edgar has said republicans need to take the governor's office in two years in order for our state to have a viable two-party system. But, how to they do it?

Former State Representative Bill Black (R) says the last thing republicans need is a crowded primary. Black says republicans also need to fine-tune their message and show they can move toward the center and compromise.

Republican State Senators Kirk Dillard and Bill Brady have booth been mulling over another run for governor. Meanwhile, Governor Quinn has said he plans to run again. No word whether he'll have a challenger in the democratic primary.
