Police want tips in armed robberies

SPRINGFIELD -- Two stores were robbed on a busy street. Police hope someone saw something.

It happened in mid-October and early November. Tomahawk Trophies at 601 E. North Grand was robbed around 4:15 in the afternoon. Two men demanded money. One was wearing a red jacket with patches on the back and carrying a semi-automatic handgun. It happened October 18.

Domino's Pizza at 409 E. North Grand was robbed three weeks later by two men with similar descriptions. They too had a semi-automatic handgun. This was on November 7, also late afternoon. Matt Goulet with Springfield Police says it's possible the two are related. He's hoping someone saw something because North Grand is a busy street at that time of day.

Police are investigating two armed robberies. The first was October 18, at Tomahawk Trophies in the 600-block of E. No. Grand. The second was November 7, at Dominoes Pizza in the 400-block of E. No. Grand.

In both cases, two black men came in, flashed a silver semi-automatic handgun and took off with cash. In the first robbery, one suspect was wearing a red jacket with patches on the back. In the second hold-up, the taller suspect wore a black Carhardt jacket and a red bandana.
