UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS -- Illini fans are asking the President to reinstate the Chief. Wednesday, a petition was started on a website called "We the People."

It was started to "peacefully grant the University of Illinois Chief Illiniwek back as the school mascot." In order for it to actually reach the White House, 25,000 people have to sign it before December 13.

That will be hard to do since the petition was taken down Wednesday afternoon. The website says it violated its terms of policy.
