SPRINGFIELD -- If you're thinking about buying a used car anytime soon, you might want to do a little extra research on it first. State officials are warning people about flood-damaged cars from Hurricane Sandy. Some could show up in our area.

Experts say the best way to avoid buying one is to do a background check on the car. You can also take it to a mechanic who can check for water stains or other damage.
