SPRINGFIELD -- AFSCME is gearing up for a round of protests across the state to challenge stalled pay raises. AFSCME had large demonstrations all summer, but now it's changing its strategy.

November 13-15 it's holding "Unity Day" events. They will be internal protests at work places. That means there won't be any large crowds with big signs outside the Capitol or anywhere else.

The demonstrations include things like all employees wearing their green AFSCME shirts to work or all planning to enter the building together in the morning. The union says it is a way to get the message across and build a sense of unity among members. The group wants to bring attention to stalled contract negotiations with the state.
