CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- One of the county's own is in New Jersey helping in the aftermath of Super Storm Sandy. Deputy Michael Wertz is with the sheriff's office.

He's helping with security and traffic enforcement. Wertz has been there since Saturday, and will be there for a week.

He's been posting pictures on Facebook along the way. It's a hard job that a lot of deputies wanted to be a part of. 25-people from Central Illinois are there, including officers from Urbana and UI police departments, plus the Macon County Sheriff's Office.
