COLES COUNTY -- A former group home worker will spend three years in prison for his role in the death of a developmentally-disabled man. 24-year old Marquis Harmon was sentenced Friday in Coles County.

Harmon pleaded guilty to criminal neglect and obstructing justice. He and another worker were accused of beating Paul McCann last year. It happened at Graywood Foundation in Charleston.

As part of his plea agreement, murder charges were dropped. He was also given credit for time served. Harmon's co-defendant, Keyun Newble, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in July and was sentenced to eight years.
