Family escapes fire

DECATUR -- A family is trying to recover from a fire at their home Friday morning. It started on the front porch and spread into the home in the 1700-block of East Clay Street.

Everyone escaped safely. It took crews about 90 minutes to put out the flames.

The damage estimate is $15,000. The Red Cross is stepping in to help the family. The cause is under investigation.
