MAHOMET -- Police hope security photos will help them catch a man accused of stealing liquor. The man has taken liquor from the Mahomet IGA at least four times since August with the most recent theft in late October.

You can see security photos of the man below. Police say he's got blond hair, 5' 7" tall, and about 190 pounds.

Investigators say he's hiding the bottle of alcohol in his clothes or jacket when he leaves. In some of the pictures, he's wearing a dark jacket with a cap that may have a Dallas Cowboys logo on it.

Mahomet Police Chief Michael Metzler believes he's either driving an older, dark pick- up truck with a partial plate of 9552 or a red Pontiac with a spoiler and a partial plate of A59 or A79.

If you you recognize the suspect, call Champaign County Crime Stoppers at 373-TIPS. Or text: CCTip plus your information and send it to CRIMES. Or log on to submit your tip. You could get a cash reward. And you don't have to give your name or testify in court.

Police are investigating at least four thefts of top shelf liquor at IGA since late August. The most recent theft was October 31. Investigators say the suspect is seen on surveillance hiding the bottles of liquor inside his clothing.

He's described as a white man, 5'7", about 190 lbs, with long blonde hair. He was seen wearing a stocking cap, possibly featuring a Dallas Cowboys insignia, a dark coat and blue jeans.

On at least one occasion, he was seen leaving the parking lot in an older, dark-colored pick-up truck with a partial license plate of "9552." In another instance, he was seen leaving in a small, red Pontiac car with a trunk spoiler. The license plate of that vehicle started with "A59" or "A79."

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers. You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward.
