WESTVILLE -- People took time out of their day to go to Zamberletti Park and honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. They had a Veterans Day ceremony where many people gathered, like they do each year, to show appreciation. The windy weather didn't stop them from making the event a success.

"There's a song by an artist by the name of Trace Atkins and it says, 'we are thankful for those who are thankful,' and I believe in that one hundred percent," said veteran Ruthford Shannon.

"It makes me feel very good that I know there are a lot of people who are thankful for those who made the sacrifices."

Shannon is the commander of the American Legion Post in Westville. He's one of many who took part in the ceremony on Sunday.
