SPRINGFIELD -- Abraham Lincoln scholars are going to be busy with new research after getting their hands on some Lincoln letters that have never been seen before. The items were donated to the Lincoln Museum in Springfield.

They are from after the president was shot. The letters give more details about his wife, Mary Todd.

Historians say they were shocked to get these rare and important artifacts. They have been in a safety deposit box in Ohio.

The letters go on display at the Abraham Lincoln President Museum in Springfield in January.
