CHAMPAIGN COUNTY -- It's another effort to keep hazardous waste out of your drinking water. Champaign, Urbana and several other cities filed a complaint against the Clinton Landfill Friday.

The landfill wants to store PCB's on top of the Mahomet Aquifer. The hazardous chemicals were banned in the late 70's.

The cities filed a complaint with the Illinois Pollution Control Board claiming the chemical waste unit there isn't being operated correctly.

It'll still take a couple months before the cities hear back from the board, but they're hoping it'll stop or delay plans. The EPA initially approved the Clinton Landfill's project, but now it's decided to take another look.
