SHELBYVILLE -- A historic landmark is in danger of falling apart. The Chautauqua was built in 1903.

It was a meeting place for people providing music and entertainment, but now the building needs work which could cost more than $1,000,000.

The Chautauqua Preservation Committee has raised some of it, but is still far off. Members hope to send out a survey to people with their next water bills. It could give them an idea of what to do next. In the meantime, a pole will be placed in the center of the building to keep it from falling down.
