CHAMPAIGN -- The debate on the fate of the Bristol Place Neighborhood continued Thursday. City officials gave a formal presentation of the plan to level homes in the area and replace them with affordable housing.

Leaders are asking the Housing Authority of Champaign County for more than $1 million in Section 8 vouchers. They would be used to relocate people living there.

But, some wonder if those vouchers should be put to better use. Opponents believe there are others, including the homeless, who are more in need of Section 8 vouchers.

No word when a final decision about the project will be made.
