Phone scam targets senior citizens

SPRINGFIELD -- Authorities are investigating a scam targeting senior citizens. WCIA-3 News first told you about this scam last week.

Someone is calling elderly victims claiming a bank employee stole money from  their accounts. The caller tells the victim to withdraw money and meet him in a parking lot.

The suspect is a white man, 50-60 years old, 5'7", 170 lbs, with short grey hair and glasses. He is also clean-shaven.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers. You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward.

The con man sure sounds like the scammers being reported at Callercenter everyday. The only difference is that the scammers steal somebody else's money over the phone...
