MAHOMET -- Jeremiah King is back from Chicago. He was there for nine weeks for rehab. That's because three months ago he was hit by a car while training for a 5K race. But the 8-year old is quickly readjusting to being back home and his new title of celebrity.

"Walking through the halls, it's like he's a rock star," said Michael King, Jeremiah's dad.

Jeremiah has been home for about two weeks and he is getting to do the things he's been missing for so long.

"Sleeping with Ollie," said Jeremiah.

"Ollie sleeps with Jeremiah every night and so when the accident first happened, it was kind of like Ollie didn't know where to go," said Brandy King, Jeremiah's mom.

Brother and sister time was also on the list.

"I think its been really good for him. I think he's been able to do things because he's been more motivated to get to the point he was at before the accident," said Brandy.

The community is backing him all the way.

"There's really nowhere we go now that somebody doesn't come up to us and just say, you know we've been watching you, we've been praying for you and it just lifts us up so incredibly," said Mike.

"I've not had to think about a meal in three months now," said Brandy.

Which makes it easy for the Kings to focus on being a family.
