ILLINOIS -- Strong turnout shows the interest voters have in some of the big ticket races. The 13th Congressional race covers much of Central Illinois down toward East St. Louis.

It features three candidates: republican Rodney Davis, democrat Dr. David Gill and independent John Hartman. It's a new district. Incumbent Tim Johnson won the republican primary, but then decided to retire.

Two other congressional races WCIA-3 News is keeping a close eye on include the race for the 15th Congressional seat and the 18th Congressional District pitting incumbent republican Aaron Schock and democrat Steve Waterworth.
