DANVILLE -- Judges in Vermilion County got a crash course in election training. That's because a few weeks ago, county officials didn't know if they would have enough judges for Election Day.

Lynn Foster is the Vermilion County Clerk. She says it was a close call.

"We had some wonderful people step up and contact their friends and family," said Foster. "Neighbors who care about government who care about elections."

But finding the people who work as election judges is only one part. To sit behind the desk, the judges need to cram in four hours of mandatory training and that's not all.

"Our judges have a good manual that we put together. We ask them to study those on their own time," said Foster. "Go through them cover to cover."

Vermilion County is now squared away. Workers hope finding people to fill positions is the only problem they'll see this year.
