The chancellor of the University of Illinois is calling on parents to help out with one of the biggest drinking days of the year. "Unofficial" St. Patrick's Day is this weekend. It has caused problems in the past including the death of a former student. This year, the chancellor is sending letters home to parents. He is asking them to talk to their kids about acting in their best interests if they are going to bars and parties. Students doubt it will help. It is not just university leaders trying to control the party. The city of Champaign has tougher rules including no shots or pitchers. The mayor also says no one can get a keg permit until Monday.
