EIU robbery

CHARLESTON -- Police are investigating an armed robbery. It happened Friday, just before 1 am, in the 900-block of Hayes.

The victim is a student at Eastern Illinois University. He told police while he was walking, a newer model Chrysler 300 stopped and two black men got out of the vehicle from the front and rear passenger side. They confronted him, put an object to his chest and stole his personal items.

The suspect who put an object to the victim's chest is described as 5'6", slim build with dreadlocks and a goatee. The second suspect is described as 6'01", medium build with short hair and no facial hair. Investigators haven't said what was stolen or what type of item was pushed up to the victim's chest.
