RANTOUL -- Police officers will be growing beards this month to support one of their investigators. The officers are raising awareness about prostate and testicular cancer. It's for No Shave November.

One of their newest investigators, Tim Rivest, is in remission. He said he's lucky to have such a great group supporting him.

"When I was going through treatment, I was unable to grow hair," said Rivest. "The department and the community have been behind me throughout the entire tribulation and it means a lot to me that they came up with this idea."

Some of the officers got a head start on their Novem-beards. The rest of the crew started Thursday. Officers will also gather donations as they grow their facial hair during the month.
