TOLONO -- Some kids are giving up a most prized possession, Halloween candy! It's all part of Unity West's "Caring Community Project."

The school collects hundreds of pounds of candy and ships it to U.S. troops. Students say it's hard to give up their Snickers and Skittles, but add it's worth it.

Last year, students collected 300 pounds of candy. This year's candy will be added to more collected from a Champaign orthodontist's "Candy Buy Back" before being sent overseas.
