URBANA -- A golden eagle is making a rare appearance in Central Illinois. Usually, we don't see them in this part of the country, but this one made a stop because of an injury.

He was found in Sadorus with a fracture, but now he's on the mend at the UI Wildlife Medical Clinic. Students there are learning from the powerful bird while helping get him back into the wild.

The Wildlife Medical Clinic is a non-profit run mostly by student volunteers. They hope to have the eagle back soaring in the sky by mid-December.
