Police investigate stolen puppy

SPRINGFIELD -- Police need information regarding the theft of a purebred, black, male, Labrador puppy. It was taken from a yard in the 2400-block of S. Whittier on October 5, about 1 pm.

The puppy is 13-weeks old, solid black, weighs about 25-pounds, has dew claws removed and was wearing a blue collar. The dog is valued at $1,000.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers. You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward.
