Small town bank robbery attempt

ROBERTS -- Two men are accused of trying to rob a bank with fake guns. 19-year old Ryan Redmon and 18-year old Damon Lee, both of Piper City, appeared in court Friday.

Police say the men walked into the Vermilion Valley Bank Wednesday wearing masks and waving guns, even pointing them in people's faces. Everyone inside the bank thought the weapons were real.

Investigators say the suspects left the bank without taking money or hurting anyone, but police tracked down their blue Chevy Blazer shortly after the holdup.

ROBERTS -- Two men are accused of running into a Ford County bank waving guns and yelling at customers and tellers. Police are questioning the suspects.

Police said the men tried to rob the bank but didn't take any cash. It happened Wednesday about 9 am at the Vermilion Valley Bank on Green Street. Someone who works there said the men barged in wearing masks with guns in hand. After causing chaos, they left and drove away.

Authorities caught up with the suspects a short time later. The Ford County Sheriff said they are not releasing their names until they're charged. Police found the suspects thanks to a description of the getaway car. The bank was back open about an hour after the situation.

ROBERTS -- Police are investigating a bank robbery. It happened about 9:30 am at the Vermilion Valley Bank on East Green Street.

When WCIA-3 News crews arrived, three squad cars were surrounding the bank. The bank is now open.

We're waiting on more information from the Ford County Sheriff's Office and will update this story as it develops.

I know both of these guy i grew up with them and went to highschool with them, and i can garuntee they werent going to hurt anybody they were doing it as a prank though a massivly dumb prank but what can you say they went to school at Tri-Point
