27-year-old Jonathan Rubin was shot and killed around 3 am. People are still shocked after the news this weekend. Some people who knew Rubin said they still can't believe what happened.

A sign on the gas station says it's closed. Investigators have been reviewing surveillance video from the scene. They have not released any information about a suspect or possible motive.

GILMAN -- Autopsy results are in for a man murdered at a gas station. The victim was 27-year-old Jonathan Rubin. He was a clerk at the gas station. Rubin was shot multiple times all over his body.

A truck driver discovered Rubin's body early Saturday morning. Police are trying to find out what happened during the last few minutes of his life. Rubin was the only one working the midnight shift Friday night. Around 3:30 am Saturday morning, he was found dead.

Authorities said a truck driver went inside the gas station to get coffee. When he couldn't find the clerk, he went inside to look around. They said that's when he found Rubin in a storage room.

Iroquois County coroner Bill Cheatum said Rubin died from multiple gunshot wounds all over his body. Cheatum said it's hard to tell exactly how many there are and many of them could be the fatal hit.

"There were several shots that were received in the torso area that hit major organs and that is the major cause of death," said Cheatum.

Cheatum said all the wounds look like they came from the same gun. Now Iroquois County deputies and state police are trying to find out who fired it.

"There's no preliminary signs of any type of struggle or any type of blunt force trauma or anything like that that the gentleman received," said Cheatum.

Iroquois County Sheriff Derek Hagen said they don't think anything was taken from the scene but they do believe the shooter was working alone.

"There were cameras inside the establishment which we have the video from and we are looking at that video," said Sheriff Hagen.

We also spoke with people who knew Rubin. They didn't want to go on camera but said he was a great guy who was a little shy. They were sad to hear about what happened.

Investigators are working on a final autopsy report. That would include a toxicology report and blood work. Both of those are standard in autopsies. Those results could take another 7-10 days to complete.

If you have any information, call Iroquois County Sheriff's police at (815)432-6992.
