policeDECATUR - One man is behind bars in Decatur tonight after an early morning robbery that ended with a police chase.

Steven Shannon of Chicago allegedly forced his way into the Huck's store on East William Street Road.

The suspect thrust a knife at the cashier before taking money and fleeing.

Police say he apparently stole a vehicle and then lead officers on a chase through town, even crashing into a squad car at one point.

Investigators say luckily no one was seriously injured.

Shannon is facing multiple charges including armed robbery, aggravated battery and motor vehicle theft.
