4 Year Old Left on School Bus

MOUNT PULASKI- It was a scary afternoon for some parents in Mount Pulaski when their 4 year old daughter didn't come home from school. She had fallen asleep on the school bus and missed her stop.
The school principal says there are a lot of factors that played into this. One the driver was a substitute and the little girl had just recently joined the bus route, either way it wants this to serve as a reminder to drivers how important it is to check the school bus at the end of each route.
The parents called police around 4:15 when their daughter didn't get off the school bus. It was then they started to panic and the dad headed to the school. An officer found her on the bus in the garage honking the horn. Police believe she had been there for about 15 minutes.
It is routine that drivers check all of the seats at the end of the route but in this case police believe it was dark and the little girl might have been looked over.
The girl's father and the bus driver are friends so Police felt it was o-k to leave it between them to handle.
Any disciplinary action towards the driver would come from the bus company.
